In this episode I discuss in detail when you may want to use a capo:
- To change keys easily;
- To replace barre chords;
- To get access to chord shapes for a specific style.
#3 What's On the Turntable This Week?
This week's featured acoustic artist is Chris Knight from Slaughters, KY. He's one of those songwriters who is able to paint such a vivid picture, with beautifully chosen words. You don't want to miss my segment featuring Chris!

I accidentally sent that first comment too soon lol. Hey tony, my name is Aaron Loera I’m from Morgan Hill California which is in the Silicon Valley just south of San Jose. I’m 24 years old and married with 3 kids. A about a year ago I was laid off my job and didn’t have a lot of money.. I went to the guitar store JUST for fun to play all the guitars and really loved the way the standard Martin D18 sounded and felt. But with no money at the time and with a family to provide for it was far fetched for me to obtain it anytime soon..even though it was the wrong timing, I have been wanting to upgrade for a long time and prayed and asked God if he could some how allow it to be possible for me to get a new guitar, something with mahogany back and sides and a Adirondack spruce top. About two weeks later I took my dad to the same local guitar store to play that D18 again even though I couldn’t afford it.. within the next two weeks they had sold the standard Martin D18 along with the rest of their old inventory but had obtained a used Martin D18 Golden era sunburst that was marked down over $1000 due to a little ding which I don’t care about. I immediately fell in love with the guitar and couldn’t put it down.. my Dad saw how much I loved that guitar and decided that he wanted to bless me so he bought it for me so I didn’t have to put it down.. I was mind blown that anybody would do that for me and I’ve been playing my new (used) Martin D18 Golden Era sunburst ever since. #smallwin I recently received a Martin D18 Golden era SB as a gift.
